Wifey's son's company, National Marine Suppliers, has asked us to help them clear out a warehouse full of surplus products. Some new, some "scratch and dent", some used. Ranges from deck shoes to a $100,000.00+ Zodiac rescue boat. Like the ones used by the Navy Seals, but orange. A lot of exotic kitchen appliances that sold for stupid high dollars, like $10,000.00 commercial freezers. A used microwave from Johnny Depp's boat. We want to use E-Bay a lot for this, but the prices are scary to me. Please share your suggestions on how to accomplish this, any advise is welcome. Thanks. Chuck

These guys have a handle on how to do this. Would they buy it all from you instead?

Sell it all to Defender Industries in Waterford, Ct. They'll probably be interestested in a lot, at least, of what you're tring to sell.

Wife's sons Co. will know of them--one of the largest marine retail and wholesale suppliers in the US. Make a deal, get rid of the inventory...

No relation, don't work for them, blah,blah....

I'll bring up Defender, see what happens. Pete240 mentioned Govliquidations. Great place to kill some time. Want the ultimate ZAV? They got 'em. They even have Pinzgauers.

Last time I used ebay on that sale it was a good day, the company I worked for was tasked at cleaning out and selling merchandise for some of circuit city's warehouses after they went out of business. We(the people posting items) got 2% of the sales, my take home paycheck was little under $15 for 3 weeks work. If it were me, I'd tell them that I'd be glad to help them move the items, for a 3% or so cut, taking pictures and listing is more work then you think.

If it's all marine stuff, there are marine/boat resale places that might make an offer on the whole lot. Dad picked up a 7500 dollar boarding ladder for a fraction of cost from one in ft lauderdale, also sold off the washer/dryer they pulled out too

Any idea who that surplus place was in Ft. Lauderdale? That's where I am.

Ft. Lauderdale: You want Sailorman.com both on line and a store.

Don't sell it under your ebay ID. One of the old timers in Maryland I was talking to said that one of his customers helped sell some big ticket items that clearly said in the listings "I'm listing this for someone else" and the IRS still made him pay taxes on the $120,000 or whatever the sale made.

Sailorman, yep that's the place

edit: do you have a list of the stuff that will be for sale? my dad might be interested if theres anything in there that he's looking for. similarly, he has a guy that is a captain in ft. lauderdale that may have some clients in need of some of the stuff.

Sailorman is less than a mile from my house. Why didn't I think of that? GRM rules. We are waiting for a complete inventory from them. Literally, close to $1M worth of really nice stuff. When I get the inventory I will PM to you, OK?
