I had a business trip in Omaha today and I always book a cheap car - as I go to the Enterprise Rental garage I notice a 328i up front and I ask how much the upgrade is. The dude looks at me and says $10. Since expenses are tight I'll pay for the upgrade myself and it really ends up being $14 after all taxes - worth every penny.

125 miles today to go from the airport and a company down town along with some hoonaging. 19.6 mpg from the twin turbo engine as most of the driving involves maximum acceleration at all times. I drive a $20,000 Honda Accord LX so I enjoyed the luxury but not another $18,000 worth of luxury?

I like the acceleration as when you want to get away from a truck you can quickly accelerate away. It also does an awesome brake torque and although I never flip people off I found it easy today to flip the bird at some guy in a Suburban - yes, the prick is on the inside.

The bad is it shuts down at stop lights and shutters upon stop and start - that would get annoying. And for $38,000 I'll take another 5-speed Accord base model for my sales car and a decent $12,000 240Z in my garage with $6,000 going to those new cabinets wifey wants.

I'm surprised Enterprise had a BMW for rent - I use them fairly often and the most exotic car I've seen is Dodge Charger.

I get to drive one around at work sometimes, the 6 speed one. You can turn off the auto start stop,It's a button right abive the push start. They're fun to drive around but I can't see ponying up for one - I'd rather my garage be a little more diverse, and damn will $12k get you a beautiful z car
