Carbon Motors (hopefully) will be building their cars in the old Visteon plant in Connersville, Indiana. This is my wife's hometown, and not too far from my hometown of Eaton, Ohio. I really want this company to succeed, as it will bring much-needed jobs to this region. My father's company did a lot of site work for Visteon (when it was open), and has already met the executives from Carbon and gave his sales pitch.
It's too bad these cars won't be available to the general public.

I'm from Connersville, and that place really needs a shot in the arm. My Dad had several friends that worked at the Visteon plant for over 30 years.
Seems like they are heading in the right direction.

Suicide doors on a cop car? I wonder if its easier for DUI offenders to fall into the car that way...
Now I want a cop car even more!
It's like a BMW P71. Pwnage.

That's exactly why they did that. They also made an easily hosed-out back seat.

I'm not sure if Carbon will ever actually build and sell any cars. It's got to be incredibly hard for a startup auto company to actually make it to production (just look at Tesla). However, I'm pulling for them because buying one of these things when the 5-0 finally retires them will be awesome. Aluminum unibody, doors that can withstand 9mm slugs at SMG velocities...what's not to love?

Means that every force will quickly figure out they need to "Retire" them prior to 100k and the auctions will be flooded with them.

Long as they're not doing the interface too.

Sadly, not happening. Carbon Motors will buy back the cars once they are retired and either part them out or refurbish and resell them to other departments.

Everytime I see a pic of what those new cop cars are supposed to look like I always see a Chrysler product....are they not just a mix of 300 and charger with a funny front bumper and a black and white paint scheme?

I like the one-piece molded back seat. Makes vomit easy to clean and impossible for perps to stuff drugs in the seat.
Now, what is the price premium of one of these vs. a V6 Charger?
