Games that is. Around my house we do a few and I was wondering if anyone else par takes in these wonderfully analog pieces of human competition and interaction.
Cataan, Caracason, and Ticket to Ride are our current games of choice.

We still love to play an angry game of Aggravation. My kids love that Ticket to Ride.
I taught my 13 year old how to burn people in Aggravation when she was young and she is so ruthless nobody wants to play her, hence the game's name; Aggravation.
I hate "bored" games including anything having to do with cards.
So no.
Rare exceptions include chess, scrabble or trivial pursuit but I am usually done after one round.
Absolutely.
Cataan, Risk, Sequence, Empire Builder (but we changed all the rules), Ticket to Ride, Rummicube.
Guillotine is a hoot..
Balderdash, SushiGo, Piece of Cake, 5 Second Rule.
My grown kids are monstrous board gamers. They play games I have never heard of. Pandemic, Dominion, Carcassonne...

So, like full-contact Scrabble without pads or helmets?
Yeah. For decades. Cut my teeth on ASL, Diplomacy, and Advanced Civ. Impossible to get large groups together these days, but I've got a few local friends who play. We've done Catan, Munchkin, various Fluxx decks, Illuminati, Last Night on Earth, Pandemic, and a few others. But I do miss those marathon Diplomacy games....

You should call it hardscrabble.
I have a decent copy of Fireball Island, surprisingly fun to play. Haven't played in a while though.

Not quite, though tempers have flared on more than one occasion...and considering everyone has their own Scrabble dictionary, a helmet & body armor is actually a pretty good idea.
There are 5 modifications to the standard rules:
1.) For example, if someone starts with the word "truth", the next player in addition to playing "dust" vertically off the "u", could also play "diet" horizontally off their "d" and above the "th" in truth...then continue from there - all within their first turn. They also could build off of the "i" in "diet", or any other adjoining letter(like the corner below the "r" in "truth" and left of the "s" in "dust".
2.) Players have 9-letters to work with, rather than the normal 7.
3.) Because of the first two rules, two full sets of tiles are used.
4.) Blanks are counted as the letters they represent.
5.) If a following player has the actual letter, the can take the previous player's blank tile & replace it with the real letter.
We also use the larger Super Scrabble board, so these games usually end up lasting 3 or 4 hours, and points have gone over 1000 on a couple occasions.
I used to play SPI games back in HS and College. Wandered in to the local game store yesterday and it's full of Warhammer type stuff. They're looking for PT help. I may have to apply..

Best boardgames ever. Worth a good bit right now too.
I had a rowdy game of Catan the other night with a bunch of newbies. We had to put rules in place that you couldn't talk trades outside of your turn and couldn't use another players port if it wasn't their turn. There is nothing in the rules about letting other plays use your ports via bartering.
We also like Carcasonne. Looking for something as easy as Catan, but a little more ruthless. Anyone play Kemet, 7 Wonders or Blood Rage?
I used to play a lot of a digital version of a game called dominion. It's a card game, and rather vicious if you play like i do.
We were sort of into them. The baroness is not especially into them, especially ones with complicated rules or really extended mundane mechanics to set things up (e.g. Dominion or Seven Wonders).
We do enjoy some Pandemic.
I used to play Balderdash a lot with my friends in high school. We all loved language and bullE36 M3, which made for a lot of fun. Lots of Trivial Pursuit and Pente, too. We also played a version of Scrabble we called Balderscrabble, you can probably extrapolate the rules. Much more fun than the traditional.
Don't play so much anymore.

I wish there was a game that was as simple to setup (and as random) as Carcossone but more battling. I have introduced it to many people and they always say the same thing, they want a mechanism to be able to move about or destroy opponents developments.
