We've got an old singer we're set to throw away. Where do you find the model No?
I know nothing about them.

I was given an old Singer a while back. One of the black cast ones. It has a brass plate riveted to it right on the front. I was able to look up the build date and found out it was built in April of 1919. It was still being used by a seamstress daily until she died. If you can fit whatever you are sewing under the foot it will jam a needle through it. The only complaint people have with the series is they are a little fast for leather or car interior work. Something easily fixed I'm told.

I might be interested in this. Do you need to make it go away by a particular date? I'm in Macon, GA, so I'll have to do some planning around pickup...
wait...that's assuming you're still in Huntsville area...

Is this one of those that is either off or wide open?

No, adjustable speed with the foot pedal. There is a knee arm that lifts the sewing foot.

Yes, still Huntsville area. No particular date. It is blocking my Opel GT in the garage but I'm currently in the middle of fixing some pesky leaks on it. I have to replace the head gasket now as I tore it putting on the timing chain cover that fits under the front lip of the head. Preferably not to long but can wait a month or so. As long as it's before it gets too cold. I will admit it's outside under a cover.
