I'm rollin' in a chocolate brown Panamera Turbo S this week. Crikey, it's plush, feeling a bit like a Desperate Housewife trolling for young guys driving this thing. Great gobs of power, nice steering weight, awesome brakes. Haven't yet adapted to its largeness though, it's damn big. But oh! The interior is just superb. Tan leather throughout, gauges would make a watchmaker proud.

Please tell us about the car, you and young boys would keep me awake at night.

Short term fun but they're difficult to train......

Lesley and young boys... mmm.

There's a black one around here somewhere, also driven by a blond girl. Each time I see it, it makes me go AAAUUGH. I thought Porsche could do no worse than the Cayenne, well I was wrong. And yes it is HUGE. The size is really apparent in traffic.

Meh, I have next to no cougar tendencies. Under-40s seem like they ain't done yet.

From the front, and three-quarters view it's pretty gorgeous. But yeah, the ass doesn't work with the long lines. It's in vogue for writers to slam this car, so I'm gonna be completely objective about it. Rather than call it ugly, it's just a bit awkward around the rear quarters - much better with the wee spoiler deployed. As a cruiser, it's sublime - the pdk is a perfect match for this car. Visibility isn't the greatest - I'm parking it very slooooowwwwly, given that this tester is $207,000 Canadian.

Technically, it's Macadamia Metallic, and it's the most beautiful color I have ever seen on any car ever.

I really want a Paint To Sample Cayman R in Macadamia Metallic (alas, it's not to be, Cayman R production has ended...)

I'm sure that no one else cares about this besides me, but when you get into the Cayman R, let me know your impression of the doors.

The doors on the Cayman S seem incredibly heavy. The doors on the R are aluminum, but I'm not sure if that just means the outer skin or if it's the whole door assembly. The R isn't substantially lighter so I suspect that it's just the skin.

And, add me to the list of people who love Macadamia Metallic, though it loses something in photographs.

Funny what comes up when you google "Macadamia Metallic" and choose images.

This for instance!

I'm sure some of you are gonna say the same thing about the green Cayman I've got next. And yet, I really like it. You wanna see some loathsome colours - should check out the sheik-owned 959s at the Stuttgart museum. Bright yellow with gold badging and tail-pipes, emerald green with red interiors, grape with gold leather. Ew. As we said in a previous thread... taste is subjective.

It sure is! It's the very same car that I spent a day at Mosport in this summer. What a great day that was – drove with David Deacon who created the Porsche Rothman Series. The car fits me perfectly, gave me confidence. It's as agile as a cat.

Please continue to badmouth Porsches in this color.

I want Macadamia Metallic Cayman S's to be impossible to sell in about three more years when they come off lease...

That car's interior looks like it had design input from Bootsy Collins, Cameo, Ziggy Stardust, C3P0 and K-Tel Records circa 1978.

How a car that spectacular could be turned into a sad kit car is beyond me. I'd think and oil shiekh would find it a bit excessive.
