See? It's got a got-damn trampoline built in to the ~removable~ roll bar.
The tray top may be ugly as sin, but it's a quick remove piece, and that's nice.
As for the color, BRG has been nearly every shade of green in it's 100+ year run. There never has been a single hue of BRG.

Thank you. That's what I was going to say. It's green, is not a silly fluorescent, and it is on a British-inspired vehicle. That's as close as you're getting. Or, if you want to waste a few minutes, here's Top Gear's take on BRG: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTRkpvdyDZw
Didn't look at TG's take, but BRG is any dark green. Rustoleum Hunter Green is about as close as any and what my locost is. I passed a coupon of it around my English car club and everyone said it looked BRG to them.

...and your car looks really good

That thread is in my favorites because of the clear description you gave of the way you did it....I'm hoping to imitate your method soon with my datsun replica. (....although I want to go with the tan-and-brown paint scheme of the type 12 phaeton in the zama facility)
When I went to paint the BRG stripe on our TR8 I looked at the factory TR7 paint codes. I think they had 2 different BRGs on different years of TR7s. Oddly enough when I went to buy the paint the guy had some problem with the paint codes, so he have me a Jag colour he had used recently. It was very dark.

BTW, I forgot to mention that the TG clip is useful because a) they say that many shades are BRG, but b) they show the first car to wear BRG in a grand prix. It is DARK.
wow.. that trampoline top like thing is UGLY. I would think a 7 would more benefit from something like the Bikini tops some of them have that just use the windshield, rollbar, and two tie down points to hold it on
Here's the one we put on our Westfield.
As for BRG - Peter Egan was looking for the perfect BRG for his Lotus Seven a few years back. After a bunch of looking, he found it on the 1991 Miata of all things.
I need to take a more recent pic of the Locost. It's much more together now, sitting on wheels, etc. I just need to do the electrical and make fenders.
Here's some pics from last years Midwest Sevens Gathering:
There's some Stalkers in there.

WAY better looking top. I remember the Egan post....he said it made sense; I think he said Mazda studied the British roadster until they perfected the recipe, and did it all the way down to the paint.
When I painted my Mini I looked and looked at a lot of green cars looking for just the right color. I ended up using a Jaguar color. It is really a dark green. I briefly considered the Highland Green that NC Miatas came in, but that was almost black. Too dark. The Miata BRG was my 2nd choice and since I saw a Jag with the color in the flesh first - I went with that.

Pics?
BTW, here's Hammond from that TG clip driving the 1903 Napier that was the first BRG car
And that original paint on the Napier looks to be in pretty good condition for its age.
BTW, the HF HVLP gun was on sale for twelve bucks again last weekend. Probably still is. I picked up a spare.

figure it was hand painted lacquer, then sanded and rubbed smooth. No doubt it is thick and made of stuff you can't legally use today

I picked one up after reading your post....still haven't accomplished enough on the car to have used it.

Am I going to have to start smiley encaptioning my posts for the humor impaired again? I'm really waiting for a grant do do that, but here's a freebie:

Hess, are you joking around again?
That trampoline is awful. Not to mention the aeros, can you imagine driving it? The Westfield setup looks much better. In fact, one of my projects is to build two of something similar for the Jensenator for both transport (full coverage down the sides and rear, no windows) and a 'bikini top' (like the Westfield's) for driving purposes.
