Some strange stuff going on with my account there (and I can't access it) and i can't seem to get any responses to my contact attempts. Since this is basically the only other forum I'm on anywhere, figured I'd send a flyer out. Alternately, if you're a member on there maybe there's a way you could contact a moderator for me?

April 9 is the last entry to the PitchBlack Raider thread and none of it is controversial. It's a post about HVAC stuff in the trailer
I didn't find an easy link to reach a mod but I did find a "contact us" link so I wrote this on your behalf.
I only regret that I did not add to the email a comment that you are a long time, well respected, fine and upstanding member here at GRM. But, since I Iinked to this thread, hopefully they will read that here.

So I hadn't been on in a while, and I went there and it said my username "didn't exist." Then I looked at the thread and saw the "banned." Looked back through my email (spam box) and there was one from like 2-3 weeks earlier saying my account had been hacked and I needed to email back that I hadn't changed my email or password or whatever. By then my account was "banned." I emailed the person back (official expo address, btw) twice and never got any response or action. I also submitted two things to that contact form.
And I have like 3 build threads on there that I'd like to update but can't lol.

Yeah I have to assume whomever hacked my account posted up a bunch of spam stuff (like we see here sometimes) and the mods deleted all that.
I just now noticed he has phone numbers on the email, so may just call tomorrow - though seems a little bit silly to call a CTO for a dumb forum thing haha.

it's funny, I used to be a moderator back in the day on some nissan forums and remember this kind of stuff happening all the time too.....

It's pretty funny who you can run into on car forums. Ben Treynor used to be very active on LS1.com back in the early 2000s when I spent a lot of time on there. He had an S55 AMG Mercedes that he put drag slicks on and was destroying a lot of cars at his local drag strips at the time. He was just one of the guys on the forum, although with nicer cars. Just for kicks, I googled him to see what he did for work and it turns out he was something like an SVP for Google. Here's an article about him: https://www.wired.com/2012/12/treynor/
I find it really cool how people from completely different backgrounds all get together to talk about cars. I'm often humbled by all of the talent that's on this forum, and yet everyone is so eager to share their expertise with others in a very straight-forward, non-braggy way. It's one of the reasons this is the only car forum I still frequent on a regular basis.
Yeah, I do my 4x4 builts carbon'd on here too, but they get a lot more interest at ExPo obviously, since this place is less oriented toward trucks/offroad stuff.
