ill pick it up but im a bf3 fan all the way now. I have been a battlefield guy since the 1942/vietnam games. I've just been waiting for that console release last year!
I won't be mainly because I feel that its pretty much the same game that was released last year with a few tweaks and new skins/maps that they charge full retail price for. CoD really hasn't changed much to me since CoD 4 came out 5 years ago and I haven't enjoyed the subsequent releases as much as the original and I have a feeling this one will be the same way. I might pick it up a few months later but for now I'm content with playing CS, TF2 and BF3.
I wont be, but I'll be happy when all the asstards and children do so I can play a game of BF3 without having to deal with as much bullE36 M3.
COD franchise died in my opinion with world at war.....bought mw2 and black ops, but wasn't as impressed with them. I guess if its trearch again for black ops 2, at least E36 M3 wont be hacked day 1 like the MW tagged games on 360.......
I started with BlackOps and loved it, then the BF3 marketing team hooked me. Tried it out and HATED IT. Then one day things started to click and I started playing with a bunch of guys that actually play as a team, been a BF3 fanboy ever since.
You know what's interesting? The same run and gun tactics used in CoD will let you wipe out a team of players in BF3. They'll then complain about you being a n00b and such.
Here's my take
MW2 and MW3 left me pretty cold. Both were hacked death early on (getting rapid fired by Mk14 and other semi automatic weapons + quick scoped by sniper fire - Good shotguns in MW3 = suckage). The Map pack for MW3 wasn't all that great. I got the first one and saved the rest of my MS points for Forza4
My son is pretty much obsessed with Black Ops, so we'll be getting this tomorrow. Not at midnight, though. We got one of those reservation cards for $1 at Target, so they are supuposedly holding a copy for us.
As for me, I played the original COD on my PC lo many years ago, but I've never been able to get used to playing first-person shooters on consoles. Give me a mouse, damnit!
Doubt I'll be getting it. There are better games to be had. GTA V is the next game I'll stand in line for.
I found that CoD was fun..as long as you had hours to hone skills for it. I just can't hack that kind of time commitment anymore. I'm enjoying Borderlands 2 because it's a much more casual and fun game to play that doesn't seem to draw the same "twitch game" audience.
I'm also witn N Sperlo. GTA V is going to give a game boner that lasts for weeks.
I just want an excuse to yell "CODBLOPS!" randomly as I walk through the mall.
I'm more excited about Lego LOTR release tomorrow...
In reply to Duke:
Yea, so is my wife. The Lego games are fun. Had a guy in COD:WAW look up my info after i sniped his ass. He started making fun of me for playing Lego games, so i continued to pick him out and snipe him until he quit. Pretty fun. The old games made it possible to master sniping. There were very good spots to hide. The new ones have eliminated them.
In reply to N Sperlo:
Yep, I'm a camper by nature, so most of the big name 1st person shooters don't do much for me. I'd rather go slow and be as thorough and accurate as I can. Looking forward to Sniper Elite V2 hitting the cheap rack/pawn shop.
Also, didn't realize there was a GTAV in the near future until this weekend. Count me in.
Pretty much everything else I get handed-down from my little brother and his gaming buddies when they get through with them.
In reply to N Sperlo:
That is awesome!!
There's nothing wrong with Sniping. . . quick scoping on the other hand . . .
I think MW II had a spot in the middle of a map where you could snipe people constantly off a cliff. The more pissed they got, the quicker they ran back. I enjoyed watching them fall.
In reply to N Sperlo:
Cliffside up by the waterfall.......take an M1 garand with a sniper scope.....pwn the entire crossroads.

You must not have seen the friend vs. foe hack that'd been used in the infinity/sledge MW series games(name changes green to red), connection hacks, and the wonderful speed glitched lobbies.
The faster than full auto thing with semi weapons is a modded controller, I never needed that.....paintball made me quick enough without.
