Given the geek-quotient of this board, there must be a number of RPG nerds hanging out here. Has anyone tried out 4th Edition DnD yet? Any thoughts? Reviews? Etc.
The group I game with is planning to try 4e for the next campaign we do, but I don't think anyone has purchased any materials yet. Many of us are a bit turned off by some of the things they seem to be doing with 4e. My initial impression is that it feels like they've adopted something of a WoW mechanic. Not to disparage WoW, but I don't want DnD to turn into WoW.

First I have heard of this. Let me check it out. I'll get back to ya.
I'm a gaming nerd but i stick to sports games and first-person shooters. Not a big enough nerd to get into RPGs. Or I just have the self-discipline not to get addicted to them.
I've got nothing important to add here but the LULz:

I'm specifically talking table-top stuff. For computer gaming, I'm pretty heavy into the FPS stuff too. Although I'm drooling over Fallout 3!
4e has me worried that Wizards of the Coast is figuring people are so used to computer RPGs, that they're going to try to make DnD have the same feel.
I play City of Heroes mostly as my computer is too old to be running these newer games. Last FPS I played was Company of Heroes and before that Half Life Episode 1. Both lagged pretty bad on my comp :)
