Is there a way I can hotlinking pics from my iPhone? When I try, it doesn't seem to work.
You have to upload them to a website and then hotlink them.
Photobucket, IMGUR, Flickr, Google, etc all allow hotlinking and should have handy apps you can use to perform the uploads and get the resulting hotlinks.
What part are you having trouble with?
You just need the address to the picture.
Select and Copy the address.
Come here to post, click on the camer icon (it helps to zoom in sometimes, use an inverse pinching motion with two fingers on the screen to zoom in)
Paste the address into the pop up window and click on OK.
Click post and you're done!
I have found that you can't do "Copy Image Location" like you can on a PC on iPhones.
I just save the image, then download to Photobucket, get the URL and paste it here.
It was nice at one time, because Google and Bing both would allow you to get the URLs in their Mobile format, but they don't seem to do it anyone.
You can't hotlink things that aren't on the web someplace. If it's on your phone, it's NOT on the web someplace. Unless you've turned your iPhone into a web server, in which case you, sir, are a bad-ass.
Upload the pic, then you can hotlink it.
Side note for GRM: Newer versions of the board software support direct uploads. Have your web folks hit me up.
I think the OP is having the same problem I have. I put the pick on photobucket but I have no mouse to get the image address to copy here. How do you do it without a mouse?
In reply to Wally:
Use the photobucket app, click on the pic, click on the ! Icon on the left and then select the direct link and it will auto copy it.
I use an iPhone and have no problem hotlinking pics.
Use google image search. Click on the image you like. Click the three vertical dots on the lower right corner of the image page and click "view image".
At that point you're on the image address. Tap the address bar at the top and copy the image address. On the GRM Board click the camera icon and paste.
You'll need to log in to post.
