I full understand your sentiment, and they are great. But it's hard to beat being track side with 20 plus A list drivers (F1, Indycar, IMSA etc.) fighting over real estate on track. True professional assassin grade A1 shiny happy people who want to kill each other (metaphorically obviously). Seeing modern cars, even glued to the track with mile wide slicks and Everest levels of effective downforce is a truly amazing experience. Seeing real pros fight, wrangle, wrestle and force those machines to the bleeding edge of physics while battling and trying to out psych each other. There is a brutal beauty in that that you simple don't get in historics, even when being driven and raced by those same level pro drivers. But as I say, i get your sentiment.
