"1953 GM Futurliner

The “Red Elephants” of GM’s Parade of Progress emerged during the 1950s, and the dozen streamlined Futurliners built by Fisher Body were eventually sold off or abandoned. Devoted enthusiasts tracked down the transporters but only 10 were salvageable. The best-restored model is No. 10, which is owned by the National Automobile and Truck Museum of the United States and was shown at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. -- Dan Neil"

One was for sale on EBay not too long ago.

What's currently flying over my dealership...

In reply to turboswede:look carefully at the lift, the left side arms are missing, and presumably under the Camaro's crushed passenger side door.... Not to say that mis-use couldn't be how it got that way

Note to self: Learn how to use the lift before I put something I care about on it or under it. Idiots are the same whether they have money or not.

That is actually a maintainance problem. You may notice that the passengers side arms are nowhere to be seen. What that means, on a hoist with a chain drive in the base, is that someone has worn the drive nut out, then not bothered to figure out why the hoist jammed up that day, and then continued to use said hoist until it wore through the safety nut too.

Seen it- but not in my shop.

There is a slightly lessmore disturbing version of this in Albany Rural Cemetery. I used to jog there when I was a teenager.
