Wow. I could not get through this list without crying:

Hard to pick a favorite from the list. But this one is up there:
"PoW Horace Greasley defiantly confronts Heinrich Himmler during an inspection of the camp he was confined in. Greasley also famously escaped from the camp and snuck back in more than 200 times to meet in secret with a local German girl he had fallen in love with."

Amazing photos. A little dusty in the house.
Here were my favorites:
A Russian war veteran kneels beside the tank he spent the war in, now a monument.
A dog named "Leao" sits for a second consecutive day at the grave of her owner, who died in the disastrous landslides near Rio de Janiero on January 15, 2011.
This is sticking a thumb in the eye of racism:
This is not:
In reply to Anti-stance:
I'm very pleased to say that, you actually picked several of my favorites as well. This pair I also found very touching.
"A Romanian child hands a heart-shaped balloon to riot police during protests against austerity measures in Bucharest."
I'm most pleased with that cop. I mean, when a child hands you a balloon, you take that. But to hold onto it while standing your duty in a tense, complicated situation... that's something else.
It's always kind of surprised me that John Carlos didn't think of turning the glove inside out and putting it on his right hand.

I'll never forget that picture. To this day, the Chinese government won't say whether 'Tank Man' is alive or what.
I'm not going to hotlink this picture, instead link it. It's one of the most powerful images I have ever seen: the Buddhist monk who set himself ablaze in protest of how the South Vietnamese government treated Buddhists. If you have never seen it, warning: it is extremely graphic.

Eyewitnesses say the man never flinched or made a sound. There's YouTube videos which support that.
I'd like to see the Occupy people have such conviction.
A smiling monk. The only more honest smile comes from a child.

Gorgeous. I've never seen one in real life. If I had known about their existence when the build-a-car bug bit me, that very well might be what my replica was mimicking.

This was taken about 4 miles from my house.
