Took me quite a while to figure it out. Wasn't until I started looking at the rise/run of the green and red triangles that I realized they didn't have the same slope...
You were right that they didn't make a proper wedge, but you didn't hotlink a proper wedge!
Maybe somebody did (I see about 75% red x's on DoD server). I wanted to put this on 2013, but I missed it.

Yup. Look at the tangent lines. The red triangle passes through a point three over and one down from the apex. The green triangle passes below that point.
