Many years ago a neighbor wanted me to build a similar rig for a 125 Honda dirt bike that he planned to take to Canada, his idea was he'd haul the canoe to the river with it. Then he'd put the bike in the canoe and head downstream. River too shallow? Put it on top of the bike again. Hmmm... sounded deadly to me.
