That's funny he calls it 'not a kit car' but it's a Beetle with a kit of parts on top of it to make it look like TD.

Those cars weren't sold as kits. They were manufactured in Detroit and sold as complete cars. Supposedly they used completely rebuilt VW motors and chassis. I don't know about the "sold at only at Cadillac dealer" stuff, though.
