OK, this is rear engined, but still (and the Beetle is even worse):
Not too bad, but still pretty lumpy:
Some older European cars get it right. E30s, Alfas, even the original AC Ace. But a lot of times they just give up as long as the top goes down far enough that you can get wet.

The Antarctic is not to be taken lightly. That's a really great photo! I was trying to find it on Google Earth, but it looks like that ship was refloated in 2013 so the satellite images won't show it any longer.
