I was at a stop light yesterday and this bagged Harley is next to me. What captures my eye are the two gold anodized shock reservoirs on the rear fender. Ohlins no less. Is this lipstick on a pig (hog)? I really don't understand the Harley thing but I really don't understand Ohlins on one even more.

There is a Bagger Racing League. I... I just don't know. In any case, your sighting might have been inspired by it though it probably wasn't an actual racebike. I think they've gone all hollow-carbon-fiber-bags and so forth. I think I preferred Top Gear's motorhome races or what have you. I think the baggers are too serious and expensive to be as silly as they are.

Hmmm. Nozzles are in the flight position. Canopy and ejection seat are gone. No obvious sign of heavy impact or high speeds.
My guess: Lost power and ran of the end of the runway, pilot ejecting when he ran off.
Regarding recent notes on planes lost to crashes (although I suspect some of these are battle damage related):
Likely compounded by the fact that Harriers only have one very bad brake.
