Woohoo!
In before the lockdown!
Yeah, I seriously toned down my participation here over the last couple months or so because I was getting too irritated with the constant U.S. political droning. I respect everyone's right to have their own opinions, but geez, some of those threads are so right wing if you read them on a plane it would just fly in circles. I didn't think chiming in with my european atheist commentary would be particularly useful. And I'd just rather not talk politics anyway.

Truth. For whatever reason, this and Corner-Carvers are sites that have serious political discourse without simply resorting to "My party is best because, well, they are" posts. Opinions are seldom swayed, but I have read things that made me go "Hmmm".
Obligatory hotlink:
this site is absolutely tame compared to some others i go to, and has probably the second most civilized politically knowledgeable crowd of all the boards i go to..

Communist.

You know, when I'm looking at the TV listings, I just skip over any "reality" shows and the Golf Channel. Works like a charm.

Yep, but when 66% of the first page in off topic is about "dems n' r's", sometimes it's easier just not to visit the board in the first place.
Things seem to have toned down since mid November though. That's for the better. A few good poli discussions going on is great. Every other thread (or more)? Not really necessary.

Wrong.
I have to shut down everything I don't like.
I couldn't love GRM the magazine or the website more, and believe me, I don't like to be the Off topic police or anything or the guy who has a problem with everything thing, but I do have a problem with this...
I find it a bit offensive that you use terms like "Thread," "Republican," and "Grandma" etc etc... for your little word box things or whatever on the internets. I myself do not have a Thread, nor am I a grandma or internet owner, but I feel sensitivity for people who are those things as I am a liberal fascist on the internet, and my grandma is pursuing her masters in the field.
These terms although I'm pretty sure are not even real words, are obviously meant to resemble the words used to describe people with pictures of donkeys and Canoes, and it appears that they are used on these boards in a joking sense which, as I view it, makes light of people who are afflicted with the right to vote.
Any time I disagree with anyone, I find it helpful to curl up into a ball, cry and let kittens lick away my tears.

Do you have Lambo doors and a Jack Daniels overflow bottle?

You are! Because arguing on the internet is freaking stupid!

I just gotta chime in with my somewhat right of center American atheist commentary: so it would be OK if the plane made left hand circles?

You forgot that CAPS LOCK thing when you posted this:

Isn't that what a strong right wing plane would do? Fly in lefthand circles from all the lift from the opposite wing?
But then that's what them 'ole Duke boys always do. Fight the system. Play by their own rules. Ole Boss Hog's chubby little fingers can't get a hold on them any more than you can carry wind in a bucket.
Reminds me of that old hound dog down the road. He's always a chasin' after them squirrels. Makes me wonder- would he know what to do with one if'n he ever caught it?
Now that makes you think, don’t it? Makes you think real hard.

My dog catches squirrels. She just grabs them and throws them, over and over again. Occasionally bats them around, and chases them all over again. Actually she's only done it twice, and I can honestly say that when trying to break up a 75lb black lab/pit bull mix and a totally freaked out squirrel, the squirrel is way scarier. She just wanted to play with it, and the squirrel was terrified. She also got kicked in the face by a deer once when she chased it into the woods and actually caught up to it.
