And I'm not talking about cars we dream about having one day, I'm talking about those things we have at night that don't make any sense when we wake up.
My most recent dream was about me looking at a 96 200SX on a car lot, at first glance the car was nice, but on closer inspection it had been repainted to metallic orange, I found out after I opened the trunk and saw it used to be a teal green color (all the trunk carpet was missing), then the wheels which had been the 6 spoke Altima wheels when I first looked at it, had turned into space saver spares. I decided to pass on the car at that point. I remember arguing with the stupid salesman that the color wasn't original and was only available on the later Sentra SE-R not the 200SX. It's a funny thing how a car guys brain works.
I also had a dream where the GTO I had had gotten backed into, so I just went out and bought another one, then that one got backed into also in the drivers side quarter panel by a forklift. I think I woke up in a cold sweat from that one.
So what dreams have you had lately?
Car related - typically Im trying to get it running for some reason or another and Im in a hurry. Maybe it wont start because of dead battery, needs fuel, needs a wheel replaced, or some other not terribly critical malady, but just time consuming fix and I just dont have time. Its more of a nightmare.
I rarely ever have car dreams that are fun. But, every once and a while, during a non car related dream, I'll notice a clean Datsun 510, an AE86, or maybe its a restomod Gbody (cars I lust for) in my garage or parked in my driveway, and amidst running after the garden gnome that stole my potato milkshake or trying to get my pet green and blue tiger to quit flying away with its wings, I will smile knowing that cool ride parked outside is mine
For some odd reason I dreamt last night about getting my ASE certifications. Odd choice, given that I'm a software engineer.
I think I might need to find another forum to read before going to bed .
I don't drive or deal with cars much in my dreams. I had one dream where I was driving a McLaren F1 crazy fast and cackling like a villain (was pretty good), and another where I was driving through some kind of street circuit in my 'rolla, the brakes failed and I got into a cartoonishly bad wreck in some simplified facsimile of a city made out of solid molded concrete. That's about it.
I have recurring dreams about still owning my old '01 Dodge Ram 4x4. I miss that truck. Never should have sold it.
I have had a few dreams before where I woke up convinced that I actually owned some car, and had forgotten where I left/stored it because its definitely not in the driveway. Takes me a few minutes to come back to reality. Its weird.
As far as I can remember, my last dream with a car in it was hitting a bear in my neon, that "upset" the bear and it started attacking. I woke up with my heart racing just as it smashed the drivers window. That was years ago.
I'm lucky if I can remember even one dream a week.
I rarely remember my dreams, but one that has stuck with me goes like so:
I'm riding shotgun in my buddy's old 944 (he sold it a few years ago and I wanted it but couldn't afford it at the time) and we are being chased by the cops through downtown conover (downtown conover is mostly a 20mph zone, we were going at least 100 over that) lol
I don't remember how it ended, but it's probably based on real experiences since he ran from/hid from/evaded cops in a saturn coupe and on a honda bike, that I know of. Probably more occasions that I don't know of though lol.
I rarely remember dreams 10 seconds after I wake up. The car dreams I usually have are terrible.
Once in a long while I dream that I'm driving the '64 Corvette that I had in my youth.
I have a recurring dream that I'm driving from Cincy to Florida down I-75. Somewhere in Kentucky I end up somehow in the trailer of a truck. The only thing in the truck is a pair of roller skates. Next thing I know I'm roller skateing down I-75 at night in the rain, passing cars like there standing still. I go into a tunnel curve fully leaned over like a speed skater. I loose it in the corner and wipe out, laying in the lane as cars are flying by me. I get back up and grab onto the back of a passing car, and right as where leaving the tunnel going back out into the rain, as the first rain drop touches me I wake up.
I've had that dream maybe fifty times over the years, I acutally think to myself as I'm having it " oh man not this dream again"

It seems most of my cars tend to give me nightmares.
I had an Impala that was stolen when I walked a trail.
I quit smoking 18 years ago but still have cigarette smoking dreams.
I once had a nightmare about a pegged temperature gauge. That definitely goes on a "You know you own an E36 BMW when..." list.
Thought I'd update this since I had a slightly car-related dream this weekend that somehow made me remember an older one that was actually half-interesting (this one only had a little rally-style driving in it and it ended with me being scammed into buying privately-held gold stocks...pretty dull).
I don't remember all of it, I was in some kind of weird abandoned office/industrial park in the middle of a desert in a post-apocalyptic world. I was driving some kind of ZAV-ish 4x4, I don't remember too much about it other than it drove pretty nice and I was worried it would break down. Me and some other people with 4x4s were on the edge of this industrial park looking out into a seemingly infinite desert and we were gonna go out and tear it up. So we're out in the desert driving and having fun, we stop and take a break, I get bored and decide I'm going to drive off on my own (we have radio comms and I remember thinking I could use some kind of radar-like mapping device to find the industrial park or the other trucks). So I drive over this big ridge that I remember was to the north (I'm calling it north, the industrial park was to the "south") and as I crest it I see this wide, clean blue river running east to west in a concrete channel, and far in the distance past the river is a big, clearly inhabited, non-destroyed futuristic city. I remember thinking this should not be, this makes zero sense, but it would be great to get over there and stop living Mad Max style. I called everyone else on the radio to come see it. I remember thinking we had no way to cross the river (hey, why didn't we try swimming and walking? I would have tried that but it wasn't an option somehow). Next I remember that we were driving west alongside the river and soon we came to a tall cliff. I remember we had no way to get past the cliff. We turned south and followed the cliff, and eventually found that it went behind the industrial park, turned east, then turned north and met the river again. So we were boxed into this post-apocalyptic desert world just across from this futuristic city with no way out.

Lately, I've been having dreams that I still had my first car. I bought it back and was going to use it as a tow vehicle.
The car was sent to the junkyard in '99 or so, and given that it was a '72, it probably went straight from the flatbed to the Granolaizer.

I've done that several times. It's kind of depressing.
I always have dreams that I am in a car chase either chasing or being chased. I also have a lot of dreams about being in car wrecks lol. I dunno if that's normal or not...
Janel has a dream that we won the lottery. So we quit our jobs and started competing in the WRC. I love my wife.
Last night, I dreamed that FM had bought Moss Miata and I was trying to integrate the companies...
