The Challenge Cup Series

Formula Vee (US) or Formula 1200 (Canada), is a racing class based on the pre-1963 Volkswagen Beetle. The engine, transmission, suspension and brakes are stock or modified parts; the chassis is a tube frame design with a fiberglass body. It has changed little from the start, yet has seen some of the world’s finest racers in its ranks.

Our Canadian/American based series is passionate about providing a competitive and low cost venue for hardworking, seasoned & up-and-coming drivers. The ten race season features Formula Vee and Formula 1200 open-wheeled race cars competing at premier road courses within the United States and Canada

The Challenge Cup is coming to my Local track at Pittrace next weekend, weather permitted I am hoping to attend to see if there are any big boned guys my size (6'2" 230lbs) see if I can fit in a Vee. Has/Is anybody planning to attend/race?

You should go.  I mixed it up with them at Mid-Ohio last month.  Their whole philosophy is to have fun while saving money.  They are very welcoming to explain everything about the cars and series in their paddock.  They have a neat formula for "club" racers.   If you are driven to max everything out and spend big bucks chasing a national championship, they aren't the guys.  That said they have some of the largest formula car class entry numbers going for them.

Go look at the cars. I think you'll find the cockpit size varies substantially between the various manufacturers. I used to autocross an old Stilletto Formula Vee and it was pretty easy to get in and out of. The newer chassis tend to be more aerodynamic and have narrower cockpits as a result.
