Cheap R/C?

I have three small kids. Visiting family brought one of them a tiny remote control car (not much bigger than a Hot Wheels) and--of course--the other kids now desperately want one. Their ages are six, four and 2.5 so I'd like to get them something for indoor use that's not too expensive that will tolerate some abuse. Have any recommendations?

None of the store bought toy are going to last long. Losi made Mini Ts and Micro Ts. Smaller than the regular car and trucks, but just as fun.

good luck finding the clips that hold the wheels on if they go flyin though. Tiny. 

Thanks guys, seeing some fun options here. Have any thoughts on the Team Associated 1/28 scale cars?  I'm seeing them for sale for under $60 RTR.

I bought my nephew this for Christmas.  Its supposed to be fairly durable, but I don't have any experience with it yet.

EDIT: I'm reconsidering my recommendation.  This thing works pretty well, but it runs around 15 mph, which is kind of a high bar to expect younger kids to control well in a house without wreaking havoc.

I was always an Associated man. I'd say check out a few R/C forums and see what the chatter is. Forums are real quick to find out if something is good or junk. 

Exceed rc sells beginner grade hobby rc stuff and a lot of it is upgradeable with parts from other companys. It's what got me into RC rock crawlers. Worth checking out 

I've got a 1/18 associated monster truck. It was fast. And the I upgraded it to lipo+brushless. It is now scary. I have not broken it yet though, and I suspect the quality is the same for the smaller ones.
