Hi~

I have no knowledge in engineering so my question might be stupid..crying

If I change my vehicle(CHEVY Express VAN cutaway) cluster will the Odometer start at 0 or will he keep the miles before changing.

Every vehicle is a bit different.  i believe it will keep the current mileage of the vehicle.  I think by that era, Chevy used a separate module to store the mileage data for the display, so replacing the display should display what you had before.

In the 90s, many GMs stored the info on a chip in the display itself, so the mileage from the donor vehicle would appear on the display... unless you found a way to transfer the chip or the data.

What year?  Early to mid 00s was still in the cluster.

They changed the instrument cluster to digital odometer in 2017. Before that the instrument cluster stayed the same for 10 years. Since it's such an old platform with very minor changes for like 30 years, it's safe to assume that information is only stored in the dash. I'd bet money if you swap the instrument cluster, the odometer isnt going to reflect the new.
