OK, I know this is definitely not some of your cup of tea.

But it is extremely close to my heart, and I'm gonna share it because it is important.

Christine Caine @ Passion

Christine Caine is a Christian conference speaker who is deeply involved with the issue of human trafficking and sexual slavery.

She's a powerful speaker, and I stand with her to say that it is a travesty to know that this has happened on my watch, and I am not going to sit back and remain uninvolved.

I've been involved in a lot of counter human trafficking through the years, heartbreaking stuff to say the least

Welcome to Georgia, where "They're just here to work" has turned some parts of this great state into a miserable, poverty, violence, and drug ridden place to live.

thanks SVreX. this was something relevant to me as well.

my sister has been to Cambodia twice now to do volunteer work at a "safe" house for rescued kids sold into sex trafficking. kids (entirely girls i think), as in sometimes 5 or 6 years old, who are emotionally torn to pieces by whats been done to them. it is amazing what just being there does to help them, for them to know someone gives a damn and that they can laugh together, paint pictures together, play together, and are safe from harm. there are so many out there that need help and the efforts DO help. many of the kids recover well - all things considered - and go on to do great things.

after the first time she went, she came back a changed person. i'm looking to get involved in some way soon.

I'd be interested in hearing more about your sister's work.
