Something has changed on my computer. I haven't done it myself. I'm a computer moron, so type your responses slowly.

I run a second monitor for iRacing. All I do is mirror my laptop screen desktop to it. One day I turned it on and all I had on #2 was my wallpaper; no desktop icons, no cursor, nothing. 2 days later it was back to normal. A day later, no desktop again and it's stayed that way. I've gone into Display Settings and checked and re-checked the box for #2 for "extend desktop onto monitor" but it doesn't.

Today I tried changing my "main" monitor to #2 so I could at least race using my big screen. It got even weirder. I can get the desktop icons, but I can't get my web browser to open on #2. It does, however, open on #1! That shouldn't even be possible.

Additionally, the right hand side of my #1 screen appears to have no end...my cursor can go several inches off the edge of the screen.

Even my wife, who is way better at this stuff than I, is baffled. It's Windows Vista with a Nvidia graphics card, if it helps.

Your laptop should have some sort of keyboard key combination or button to switch between mirrored display, laptop display only, and big monitor only. On the HP laptop I happen to be in front of right now, that key combination is Function-F4. If you haven't yet, try cycling through the different settings once or twice to see if it works. If you have tried this...what happened?

Why has my daughters windows 7 laptop forgotten how to locate a printer? Wireless, wired, doesn't seem to be able to locate the port.

Sorry, no help to the OP, but at least you know you are not alone.

Ha, next door neighbor helped me figure it out. In teeny-weeny text it said I had to right click on something to access the part to fix it.
