On Saturday, after being up at Mid Ohio for two days, we had a birthday party for my 4 year old son at Magic Mtn. As part of the birthday package each of the kids got a ticket that could be used to play any of the outdoor games they have, of course all of the boys wanted to ride the go carts. The 4 year old was not tall enough to ride by himself but my 9 year old, one of his friends and two of the 5 year olds got in line for the "slow" carts.

They only had 4 carts running and when the boys turn came up my son Ian got the last one in the line. Before the first lap was over Ian had passed the other three boys and had a huge smile on his face and gave me a big thumbs up when he went by. Before their time was up he had lapped the two youger kids 3 times and his friend twice. It was fun to watch him clipping apexes and having a great time. When the ride was over he came over to me and said, "It was like I could see the green line on the track", he plays a lot of Forza.

I just wanted to share, it is cool to watch kids grow up and the fact that they like the things that you like is just icing on the cake.

Wow, only four and he understands apexes? Looks like he'll be an expensive kid.

Kidding aside, that is indeed the kind of thing that must make you proud. Our 1.5 yr old niece gets really REALLY excited when F1 comes on and enjoys watching the race with us. Even though she isn't the product of my loins, I was kinda proud too.

Do you have to be able to sit on your own to go carting? BeaverRun (or whatever it is called now) is just down the road, so you know this kid is going karting!
