Watched Counting Cars for the first time last night and was not impressed at all. Switched over to Car Chasers... pfft.
Yea, I'll prolly watch just for the car content and build/ fab ideas but c'mon man.
I've learned not to expect much at all from these type of shows anymore.
Whatcha all think?
I kinda liked Counting Cars but I haven't even noticed the new season started, nor have I set the DVR.
As to Car Chasers, there are still a few unwatched episodes on the DVR, right next to "R U Faster than a Redneck".
Car Chasers is not the best presentation of Lubbock.

I watch it every now and then, but the amount of times the guy calls people "brother" annoys me.
I have no idea what you people are going on about. Must be some cable show.
As much as I hate the "Fab" shows, Counting Cars isn't bad. I like to watch it. Most of the E36 M3 is scripted, but so is American Restoration which I like. I'm getting used to expecting all these shows being scripted.
The main reason I like Counting Cars is because Danny has an appreciation for all cars, not just late 60s muscle cars, which most of the car shows today seemed to be aimed at.
Nobody watching Fast N Loud?
He's a pleasant enough guy on screen (although I lost count of how many times he used the words 'brother' and 'in the wind') but there's just about zero coverage of the crew actually building or restoring the cars - they show the cars going in the garage, maybe a few seconds of people grinding metal or painting, then the cars come out all done.
At least there's a minimum of yelling and fighting going on. His shop manager is a blowhard but he's not on screen that much.

That's one show I can tolerate. Not too much scripted drama and the deadline thing. Monkey Garage owner and his chief mechanic really make that show. I even managed to watch the recent FnL marathon, not bad.
Counting cars isn't too bad, but I like Fast' n 'loud better
That one with the Mopar guy is really hard to watch.
Something about the personality / attitude of those guys REALLY rubs me the wrong way. I would hate to have to associate with people like that.
While I'm grateful for any automotive related TV I've got a feeling the lead guy on Fast & Loud spends a lot more time in front of the mirror than his wife does.
I like Danny more on Pawn Stars than I do on Counting Cars. Of course I'm addicted to Pawn Stars so that may not count.
Gas Monkey's willingness to go ridiculous
(well, not by 'our' standards)
is a big part of my enjoyment.
That and Aaron's beard.
Almost makes me want to live in Texas.

I like American Restoration too, limited car content but still cool stuff.
IMO, a lot of the car shows could be a E36 M3load better w/o the drama scripts... or at least tone 'em down a bit. Makes me wonder who the show is targeted at... general population, car people or ?
In reply to fasted58:
Probably the general population who consider themselves car people.

+1.
That might have been a little harsh.
I suppose I should have said, "The Count is unwatchable".
In reply to Sine_Qua_Non:
Ft n loud fan here not so much for counting cars

I watch them both. More entertainment than for car content. Met Horny Mike at SEMA this year. Very cool guy.

The Car Chasers on CNBC is by far the best of the bunch. At least most of the people on the show are likeable. In fact, the show earns it's own thread since it deserves better than being lumped in with these guys.

Chock me up as another fan of Fast N Loud. Richard and Aaron are entertaining, and there seems to be a lot less artificial scripted drama in it.

I have to admit that I like it when Richard loses money.
