I still need to finish the Netflix series. I watched 4? And enjoy it hugely. I've never seen the anime. I was saddened to see Netflix cancel it so soon.

The original Anime is also on Netflix.
Original will be on adult swim soon, the replay it every now and then.
Netflix canceled it after the first season. I hate it when that happens. They are getting to be more and more like the bonehead networks.

I'm not sure which one I prefer, but I definitely like the live action action version. The anime isn't especially "user friendly."
Shinichiro Watanabes other anime are pretty great as well. I think I actually like Samurai Champloo a little more than Bebop, it has more of any actual storyline. And some episodes of Space Dandy have me in tears in get laughing so hard.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, but a lot of things important to the world building are subtextual, or in offhand background character dialogue. Like the three old guys who are at all the bars are actually somewhat important to the world, if not the specific story being told.
