Search is pointless if everybody leaves out a digit..... and it seems that everybody leaves out a digit in the mileage.

That's why I always search with a minimum of 20,000 miles. Weeds out all the douchebags who put "150" in the mileage slot.

My other favorite is "80,000 miles" listed and then you read the ad and it's actually "250,000 miles on body, 80,000 miles on engine".

In reply to Duke:

What exactly do these dingleberries think they are accomplishing when they do this? Also the guys that put $1 in the price box when they have an asking price in the ad, or shorten the price, like putting $17 when theyre asking $17,000. Do they think that when a guy looks for a beater with a max price of $1500 that they may be swayed to buy his built duramax?

Commas save lives too:

"Let's eat Grandma."

"Let's eat, Grandma."

And then I'm sitting here thinking, who the hell shops craigslist cars on mileage? I usually look at price, condition as shown in photos, maybe make and model... and then look at what the mileage is and start deciphering if it is accurate. It's not an initial search condition though, lots of people do not even list it in the first place.

Who shops on mileage? A lot of people. It's basic info, no different than year or trim level or transmission type. *When it's correctly indicated.

I want to use it to search but often cannot because of creative typos.. which I'm pretty sure are deliberate.

Not everybody wants a 360,000 mile 7.3 powerstroke. While I know the one listed as 36000 is going to be bullE36 M3, it gets tiresome.

For many cars, maximum miles is a good proxy for condition.
