We learned a lot as kids from my WW2 Marine grandfather. He had cancerous spots cut off yearly for the last like 40-50 years of his life. Neck, ears and nose are common known bad spots for cancer, but high on your cheek is super common too. Baseball caps are placebo. Only good for helping vision and baldness, they dont help much as far as exposure to all the sensitive areas.
I now rock this chick-magnet.

Great thread, i spend a lot of weekends at the track, and have been looking for replacements for my aerosol spray cans that have the worst of both worlds: feel greasy on your skin and feel like murder when you sweat and it runs into your eyes.

Had to restock. The kids are now becoming aware of hating sticky sunscreen so they've been insisting on using mine.
Panama Jack spray SPF 75.
I just spent a conglomerate of 12 hours on a boat off the Virginia coast over 4 days and didn't even tan. I like the Panama Jack because it's not greasy. I hate the feeling of crap on my skin when its hot out and the sun is beating down.
Autocross is my big exposure these days. I cover up as if I was going offshore fishing (which I may start doing again) plus sunscreen no matter what the weather is going to be.
Dermatology checks twice a year. I've had two Mose surgeries on my face and several other sites have been biopsied.

For the face I use a Cetaphil brand moisturizer with low SPF. Seems to do the trick.
