When told the reason for daylight savings time the old Indian said, "Only the government would believe that you can cut a foot off the top of a blanket, sew it to the bottom, and have a longer blanket."

My grandfather once told me that he thought all times should be exactly the same, and that regionally you just get up at noon, or at 9 pm, or whatever, because the number doesn't actually matter. Blew my mind - he's totally right.

I believe China does that. The whole country is on Bejing time.

In reply to carguy123:

How about we just split the difference (+0.5hr from Standard) and leave it there?

Extra sleep--w00t

Getting dark shortly after lunch--

...and we get to be bombarded with Christmas ("holiday") fanfare starting Sunday.

As usual, I'm not mentally ready for winter.

They do have that, it is called Zulu (the same as GMT or Greenwich Mean Time) time, used by the military, aviation etc.

Amen bro, but then some bureaucrat couldn't justify his job. You just know there is a division of the government whose sole job is to keep up with the changing of time and the effects of it.

In that case could you do me a favor and drop something high voltage in to the pool? I will reward you handsomely for the proper results.

Yup. Though almost everything that directly affected me was local time.

And I say that we just scrub DST altogether.

we ran till 5:30. It was a mess... 2400 people in the door, another 1200 in the side door. You could not move in the place. The fights were amusing though.

Stuff like this is why I quit the road crew and went back to Master Control years ago..I can't remember the last time I touched a light. I must have finally figured out how not to burn myself by the time I gave up on production.

I'd be surprised if he can tell time, but I'm SURE he makes mommy and daddy's life difficult when they mess it all up.
