But man, that trailer is for a film that jumped a whole aquarium full of sharks.
The series jumped awhile ago, and I think it's just fine if that is the expectation. Completely ridiculous and I love it.
It's like evel knievel. They keep adding more sharks.
So when does the franchise jump the snake river? Or would that be "shark" river?

Some people here love Radwood. Really not my thing. I'd rather watch F&F.
But I'm sure glad Radwood is part of car culture.
This, so much this.
I've never understood this need to tell people that what they like to be entertained by is bad. Do your own thing, let everyone else do theirs. If you see a thread about F&F, and you don't like F&F, don't click on it. It's honestly pretty simple.

Because that's a discussion. Otherwise it's just a 1-dimensional namecheck of people who like the given topic.
There's no call to tell people they're stupid or unworthy for liking something.
But there's also no reason a given thing should be immune from criticism just because a subset of people like it.

A very reasonable take. I may be projecting, but it does seem like some of the posts here are veering into judgemental territory.
Anyhow, since when has realism EVER been a part of this franchise? How many times did the characters shift gears in a quarter-mile race in the first movie? How long was that runway at the end of F6? How many characters have survived things that would kill any mortal human? They are silly, over-the-top action movies that happen to have cars in them.
The one with The Rock and Jadom Statham vs Idris Elba was awesome. My son and I enjoyed that movie a lot!
I was his age when the first F&F movie came out. Maybe a little bit older.
Amazing how they made a movie where you can't see one of the main character.

Interesting you ask this. We just had this discussion and determined that if all fight sequences happened at the same time, the runway had to be between 4.5 and 6 miles long, depending on the average speed of the plane knowing that stall speed is right around 140mph. If they happened as the movie portrays, the runway must be between 22.5 miles and 26 miles in length.

Oh man, I so badly hope that line is in the movie. Makes my day when a character says the movie title.

Im pretty sure it was the same runway the John Travolta was trying to stop Nicholas Cage on at the beginning of Face Off. It was also several miles long!
I'm an aviation fiend. Since I can remember. At 7, I picked apart Top Gun. Every last thing.
I still enjoyed it. Which is my point.

I mean, they are tarzan swinging a charger and I've heard rumors of outer space.
I keep hoping the last one is some sort of jedi mind berkeley and the whole movie turns out to be the imagination of someone's kid with some hot wheels. It would make a lot of sense, in a way.
To paraphrase How Did This Get Made: Its like Vin Diesel fan fiction, written by Vin Diesel.
If you want to kill about 8 hours, listen to their episodes on Fast 5-8 & Hobbs & Shaw

Well, it's Charlize Theron. So maybe it's Faster and Furiosa.
I watched the first one in theaters, walked out of the second one, then made fun of anybody who watched TD. That was in high school.
Then about 5 years ago I decided to watch them all and see. Yeah, it's dumb. But entertaining. Still haven't seen 8. I should remedy that. Then maybe I'll go out to dinner and a movie with wife, only it'll be Taco Bell and F9. Because I'm classy that way.

Don't let that distract you form the fact that Hector gonna a be running 3 Honda Civics with Spoon engines. And on top of that, he just went into Harry's and ordered 3 T-66 turbos with naws, and a Mo-Tec System exhaust.

MiG 28's, nobody's been this close before! (And no one ever will, Goose, no one ever will)
I only made it half way through the second movie before giving up on the franchise, but if you like something dont let anybody make you feel bad about it. There is enough stuff to feel bad about nowadays. Go have fun a couple hours of dumb fun.

They are silly, but great fun.
The earlier ones were better. The longer these things go on, the less believable they are. It's a train wreck. Like watching Stampie and Frenchy arguing about BBCs and Jag V12s.
To quote uncle Roger:
"What is meaning of BBC?"
BBCs and jags. I'm sure there's a PornHub video for that. No, I'm not going to confirm. Just a hunch.
