The Dieselgate emissions cheating barely made it out of the crib compared to this, apparently Daihatsu had been fudging crash safety tests since the early '90s

Some cars made by Daihatsu and sold as Toyotas were also affected, but AFAIK the only rebrands shared between the two are Kei trucks?
So, is it implied here that Kei trucks are not crash-safe? Who would have thought?/sarcasm
I always assumed that Kei trucks get a different safety test, like maybe they just have to survive a forklift backing into them or something heavy being put on the roof
Not surprising, from a company with a car called Charade

Also, don't forget they named one Naked as well...
To be fair, Dieselgate affected all of us, and Daihatsu only endangered the people who were in crashes. That said, the earliest instance in the report pre-dates Toyota's purchase of the brand. Due diligence anyone?? Toyota has suffered little so far here.
