After I did it the other day that looked messed up in the type box but posted fine
copy/paste works fine for me, but uploads are no bueno. So far all of them have been squished left/right so my pictures look like a spaghetti western.
Cleared cache, restarted, same deal.
I posted a picture of my bike in the photo thread today and it was normal.
I'll try another...
Edit: so, the preview showed it distorted, but looks good now.

How do we know what to resize it as?

Try dragging the into a browser window to open them, then copy paste from there.
I don't know that will work, just a guess.
I'm not sure if this if of any help for the troubleshooting, but I observed the following.
When "borrowing" a squished image from the meme thread by saving an image to my photos I found that the saved image displays correctly when viewed from photos on my iPhone.
I'm new to an iPhone. I didn't clear the cache, but I did find out how to close all of the open windows that I thought were closed.
I don't know if that's what did it, but my images seem to be loading normally.
I'll try one more, this time one that I've downloaded. The other two were pictures I took with the phone.

I just keep lowering the width down until it looks ok on my screen. I think I'm down to low 300's? to make a picture look right.

When trying to post a picture, what is that in the preview section?
It's a somewhat common test paragraph. It's nonsense Latin but has some fun hidden phrases in it like "but sauce" and "United States fears pregnant, but this carton."
Plug it into translate and you get this:
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, Aeneas said skirt temperature. Now no arrows, nibh not targeted some of them, orci felis gravida justo, sed ornare massa mauris sed More in the game. No, my price and laughter. Fusce mi with the foot, tempor id, the course of ac, ullamcorper nec, for example. But the temperature. Chat employee. Homework outdoor propaganda, but sauce, a basketball, grief and, bored. Until the kids want ante. Remove, looks like in running the throat, peanut salad drink foot in a region just any approval. It needs temperature. Rutrum is to invest element, graduated some players wants some time now peanut offset fears. United States fears a pregnant, pregnant but, this carton base. For basketball, but very poisonous ecological, salad, no skirt region, we need bananas environment is not ugly. For the ugly. Stress skirt. Mauris venenatis congue tortor Curabitur Sed convallis element. Financing pregnant now start.
I know the devs are working on this, but as a data point I've also noticed that in the last week or so that images copy / pasted from Facebook are showing up as a link with a verbal description, rather than an image. This happens when you paste the image, because hotlinking seems completely kaput.
This could be on FB's end; I have no idea.

You're blaming the victim(s). It is merely a symptom of the wider problem of societal decay.
You'll need to log in to post.
