I did because sometimes you may not know that you're coming across like a bit of an ass and since I had confirmation of this impression from others on the board, I figured I'd give him a heads up. However based on this thread, its obviously not him who's a butt dart so I'm just going to drop off the board for a while. Thanks to my job and the way my life is currently structured I'm slowly realizing that I have few real friends and little outside socialization or enjoyment and I need to make some changes or I'll be a fat, hermit-like internet troll. You are obstinate and sure that you are right, so are the rest of us. If that's annoying we should pretend to lose our way.

I've PM'd people that I've been in arguments with on the board before. Not to call names, or say something I wouldn't necessarily say on the board. Just to either clarify my position/get clarification or continue on with a conversation that I felt would be best to take off the board, out of respect to the hosts.

I don't think anyone on the boards annoy me. I know what to expect from everyone here. I don't think we have any real asshats amongst us.

Some people may feel differently about me but I really don't care.

People in general annoy me, no one here should be any different. The fact that I choose to tolerate the annoyance because there is benefit to being around you nutjobs speaks volumes to how great this place is :)

All the smart people eventually realize that I'm right. It's a fact of life. The sooner everyone realizes I'm right, and publicly agree, the better off we all are.

Hey now, I don't THINK I actually said that. Though it does sound scarily similar to pretty much anything I'd say, so maybe I did. Anyway, I'll chime in with the general sentiment: You're no more--or less--annoying than many others here. Like most of us with strong opinions and snarkish senses of humor, you come across at times like a complete dick. I'm sure that's why you got that PM, and no, I don't think Turboswede needed a public shaming for that. I've gotten the same PMs from time to time, and sincerely appreciated it. Sometimes it's tough to judge what your online persona is perceived to be, since it can be so different from what you project personally. (I, for one, apparently type meaner and MUCH taller than I am in person.)

So, um, yeah, you do. Join the club, stay and have a drink. I'll be just a couple of barstools down, also trying to be less abrasive.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I just wanted to find out if this was a wide spread opinion of me or not. I also never intended to reveal who it was that contacted me, although in the end he gave out that information himself. But this was NOT about who was right or wrong, so I also don't want him to leave the board, even though he annoys me!<----NOTICE
Seriously, Swede, Its okay that I annoy you. I'm sorry I do, but your not the only one. Don't leave, even for a short time, as I don't think this thread should result in you making a drastic change like that. If you need to do it for other reasons, then do what you need to do, but please don't do it because of me. That would make me feel bad.

Yes, you did. I remembered it because it was not long after bravenrace had annoyed me about something.

Nobody on this forum annoys me, but I'm not easily annoyed. Even those I often disagree with don't really annoy me. In a way, I am jealous because they have that spark that allows them to be truely passionate about a subject, which is difficult for me.

When I am annoyed, I tend to go on about it. E30's, for example...

Don't leave based on this man. I also have very few close friends, but that's the way I like it. I'm no social butterfly and generally go out to my garage every night and work on projects.

I don't find you particularly annoying either. This being so anonymous there are certainly opportunities for misinterpretation of things said but that's just a danger we all face using the internutz.

Besides, if you were so wallpaper paste dull that you never ruffled anyones feathers you (and all of us) would be so berkelying dull that no one would ever want to frequesnt this forum.
