My wheelbarrow tire is flat and won't hold air.

When I went to Amazon to order a replacement, I found that almost all of them are now solid, "flat free" tires.

I've always depended on the air pressure to help me move really heavy loads across rough, rocky terrain. I overload it every time.

Will I be disappointed with a solid tire?

I've really enjoyed the foam style flat free tires on my wheel barrows.

They have some give to deal with rough terrain, without needing to really worry about a puncture.

That said, leaving outside year round really shortens the life, especially if they are somewhere wet and subject to freeze thaw cycles.

I haven't tried the solid solid tires yet

Based upon my recent experience with wheelbarrow tires of the pneumatic variety, I'd say the flat-free type is certain to be an improvement.  I have a yard cart with a wheelbarrow tire at each end of an axle.  I cleaned up one of the wheels, painted it, and fitted it with a brand new tire.  The other side still held air, so I figured I'd replace that one when it failed.  A few short years later, the new tire has numerous cracks in the sidewall and won't hold air.  The old tire is much as it was years ago.  Looks like hell, but still holds air.

I don't know if anyone is still selling a decent wheelbarrow tire, but I haven't been able to find one.  Next one will be flat-free.  It doesn't need to do much, just be round.
