Have you tried this?

Now, here's what happens when you buy something: they swipe the doohickey then you swipe your debit card, bam they have everything they need.I also find that I can go to WalMart that's only another 2 miles away (yes I know everyone says they are de debbil), buy the exact same grocery brands and save a heap more $ than the BonusCard saves without me having to hand over a card etc.
when I got my BiLo rewards card ( I can't remember how many yrs ago) we had to fill out a form … I never use a debit card … though I'm guessing the same thing can happen from using a CC …??
but like I post the pic and link of … I can block some 2000 #'s .. gets most of them
better yet … say "one moment please" then put them on hold …. the worse thing you can do to a telemarketer is "waste" their time … the longer they sit on hold the less they're getting paid … hint: it pisses them off … wow, isn't that too bad
I just hate having to block calls etc in the first place. My celly is a tool, not an end in and of itself (it never ceases to amaze me how many people's lives revolve around the damn things) so if it rings I want it to be for something meaningful. That's because at work if I am going to have to ask a customer to excuse me while I check the number it better be someone important to me, not some assclown going down a list trying to raise money or sell me something stupid.
Just thought of something: I use the Bi Lo pharmacy since it's close to my house and about the same price as anywhere else. I gave the pharmacy my number (that's essential, they have to have it) but as mentioned I don't have the rewards card and do not give the grocery store my number, ever. I only get phone calls from the pharmacy when my scrips are ready, never hear a peep otherwise.

Heh. I worked for a tire store back in the late 1990's, I got a phone call one day from a girl who asked if I wanted to buy some porn tapes. I said no not interested, she said 'What?!?!? You don't like pretty girls?'. Turns out that those people had been calling that store for about five years because a previous employee had his porn shipped there so his wife wouldn't find out.
At the Jeep store, we used to get robocalls from some place that started out with a ship's horn blaring, then a voiceover would say 'This is your captain speaking. You have just won a two day cruise to...' Since those damn calls always came through when the place was jumpin' I never listened to the whole thing. The aggravating thing about it: company policy was phones got answered by the third ring. Talk about a pain in the ass...
There is a much better response.
The minute you realize it is a telemarketer, say, "Please put me on your no-call list". They are REQUIRED to by law.
Every time I do this, the tone of the call changes instantly. From a pushy sales call to "Yes Sir. Is there anything else I can help you with?".
These individual no-call lists apparently are shared, because they expand exponentially. Once you start saying this, the calls decrease quickly.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work with recorded messages. I get a lot of recorded messages. But hanging up or leaving the line open wouldn't work for these either.

I've not noticed any change in the tone of the call … usually just a hang up, and the calls continue … so for me the only way I have to retaliate is to waste their time … time is money to them
you're assuming they give a E36 M3 about the law … again assuming you're already on the do not call list, it means that the calling party is already breaking the law … you telling them to not call, won't mean squat to them … wasting their time hurts them a lot more
yeah, the robo calls are a PITA.. the only thing that I've found to work is to block their #'s … and since they have many call from #'s it takes a while to block them all
