Mind telling me where that place is or at least what direction from town? I'm trying to work out a deal to move back to HSV in the next month or so.

Down in Cullman.
Thanks. Looks like a great spot...even if just for weekends. Are you going to put a cot in the corner and just head down on Fridays and back Sunday nights?
In reply to T.J.:
More then likely or a couch. There are four of us sharing the space. But at 5000 sq ft there should be a decent amount of space. We are actually going to build a smaller paint booth because that thing is massive and we don't need anything that big.
Still trying to get my crap organized from moving. The shop is a disaster to say the least and I still have a 8X20 trailer full of stuff to fit in here.
The attached garage it worse. I'm not even going to post a picture of it.

Wow!
24 X 42 ft. 11 ft. ceilings and storage trusses up above. Stairs that pull down, the attic has 8 ft. head room, 13 X 42 ft. of storage. I also doubled up trusses at the center and tied six together, then installed a block & tackle to lift up snow tires etc. and a chiain fall to lift up cars, engines, etc.
I has a propane heater, garage sale stereo, an apartment refrigerator and 220.
Oh yeah, a spot out back for Mrs. 914's plant crap.
Dan
I don't have a garage...not even some shade for my unlevel, mud & gravel spattered driveway You can see why I send my cars to a mechanic more than most around here...
Three bays, but no columns, so I can squeeze four cars in there, ten and a half foot ceilings to accommodate a future lift, 110 outlets everywhere and one 220, eight double eight foot florescent lights and two double fours, a shop sink and a door that leads directly into the basement, eliminating the need for a Bilco door outside.

I can't complain, although I often do anyway. I want to know about your Ford pickup! Looks nice!
Love this thread, these are moer what shops should look like, garagejournal pix scare me, I will post mine up later..
Woody- would you ever in some sort of delusional haze- consider parting with that mazdaspeed banner? I would muchly like to own it.
Though I am without a Mazda for the foreseeable future, losing that banner would leave a serious void in my garage decor. There are some specific memories attached to that banner as well. Perhaps if you had Porsche banner of similar size to trade, I might consider it.
I also have a nifty WRX banner, even though that car is gone, too. This one would be even harder to replace. It's an old SCCA Pro Rally banner. It's about nine feet long.

I really like this one. Was it originally designed like this or was it a two car that you added a third bay to?
I dont have one. I work out on the street, Or borrow my aunts gravel driveway for big jorbs. Or the majority of building the rally car.

Thanks Woody. I built it that way from the start. The best feature is the hydronic floor heat. I'll never use anything else again. BTW, your 911 would look really nice in it!!

You prefer tools to a ring? (knees knock together like castanets). Now THAT is the way to a guy's heart.
Construction is ongoing. And on and on. We get distracted a lot. Used to be half carport, half garage; now all shop. The front siding and the ship-lap under it need to come off for sheathing and the whole front gets sided. Still need to cut holes in the concrete and pour for posts to support a beam running fore-aft to replace the wall that used to divide the halves. And insulate. And sheetrock. And wire. And do a new roof.
But it's going to be awesome.

Patience, my friend...
...unless, of course, you're talking about the Targa.

It's a decent 5 footer. It's been perpetually in line next for getting some freshening but the race car sucks all the money away from it and/or it's working. I've posted this photo before, but this is how I roll:
