Been doing some cleaning, digging through old boxes of crud I've been moving forever.
I came across my old film camera, a Yashica FX-D (with 50mm lens). It still appears to be functional, the batteries are good, and the shutter clicked when I pushed the release. The leather on the body is in pretty rough shape, though.
I looked it up on eBay, and these cameras don't fetch much more than $10+shipping in this condition. eBay (to me) is more hassle than it's worth on a $10 sale.
If anyone here wants it and has a use for it, they can have it for free + shipping.

Super! Send me an email at yv1ax(at)juno.com with your address and I will tell you how much it will be to ship.
How long will 35mm film survive? I have a feeling that it will remain a cottage industry for a really long time.

Film sales are actually up in the last few years. A combination of small and large producers have created a pretty diverse market, and there seem to be more new emulsions on the horizon (Ferrania, for one). Processing is not as convenient as it used to be (unless you do it at home), but there are still quite a few good mail-order labs.
That reminds me! I need to finish the roll of film in my Yashica T-4 and ebay that sucker. Prices are through the roof!

I'm excited to get back into film. The last time I tried, my faithful AE-1 developed an intermittent electrical failure with the shutter. That said I'll be running color and commercial development as I don't have a dark room.
