I bought a Champion 3500 from Tractor Supply. It has sat in the bed of my truck, uncovered, for at least the last 3-4 years and it still starts on the first pull. It was cheap, at iirc $400 or so, so I really didn't expect a lot, but it has performed extremely well.
Thanks.
I noticed the HF unit seems pretty loud at 75dB, but I don't think that's much of a concern, since I would place it away from our bedrooms when in use.
We have one we use for work. Sits in the trailer for months at a time and starts easily when needed. Not as quiet as a Honda but was only a fraction of what a really good one would run.
I have the 8750. Thing sits for months and starts first pull. I walk by it every day and think "Man, I should start that thing more often." But I don't and I panic when I do, but the damn thing fires up almost instantly.
As previous posters have said, it's not what I'd call quiet, but I can't fault the reliability or the price.
Please Please Please don't get one of those if you are going to go camping with it. They are very loud and the sound carries. When I was working Nascar races there would be 2-3 people with them and I ended up having to sleep with ear plugs just to get asleep.

No worries, I don't camp. Just looking for something to help us when the inevitable power outage from a storm occurs.
