A friend just bought and sold this car for the mid $80s (CLK63 Black Series). Only had ~10k miles on it and came with ~$25k in RennTech goodies installed. Not to mention it was wrapped in wicked looking matte black.

And the sound was to die for. Putting out ~590hp at the crank.

Be on the look out for a thread titled, "Down to one car (325iT, + Pile of $$$)"

Not quite as big and loud as a viper but you could get an Exige S-240, Evora, 2-Eleven, or a Caterham R500.

Hahahahahaha! That cracked me up!

The downside is that the market for LS1 FC's is extremely soft. I took a hit to sell it.

Rather than a $80k-$100k car though, I'm on the lookout for an inexpensive boat. Time to get out on the water!

You guys are a bunch of regular comedians. Just for that, no boat time for either of you!

Doesn't meet your three year requirement, but already has enough incentives to offset the tax.

What about one of these?

What you really want:

48 hp, 390 lbs including 160 lb driver. About $10,000. You've got the disposable income to buy and run it.

How about a DP1?

Hayabusa-based V8, AWD....

Heck a DP4 would be enough trouble (but not street legal)

He also has a couple of neat cars for sale on his site:

A convertible, highly modified, stretched Mini and an Escort Cosworth Buy them both for about $60K total!

That last one is a Superformance Daytona

These are both dream cars, but likely out of my price range. You sold a 3rd or 4th gen Viper, if I remember correctly, so that ought to be enough to finda Pantera at least.

Porsche 997s are the only new car that isn't an Exige that call to me in my sleep. Neither of those is boisterous or big so Lessee... big, boisterous, expensive...

The new M3 fits the bill. Its also heavy and ugly but they do go like a scalded cat anyway. From the inside they are awesome.

Don't spend your wad on the Gallardo until you've spent some time behind the wheel of one. I was a lot less impressed than I though I'd be. The 997 (the Turbo is ungodly fast!) and even the new M3 are more fun to drive. Have used R8's started turning up yet?

I did this weekend, definitely NOT the car for me. Claustrophobic in the coupe, the seats are harder then granite.

Did take a friends 355 out and that was a hoot. I fit in it, its got some head room. And 42-44K buys me a 30K mileage example with full service history and recent engine out belt changes. Leaning that way right now, and it would leave me with a good chunk of cash in the bank.

I really want to try a Testarossa next, about the same price point but with more maintenance.
