Using a 3point implement on a receiver hitch, dumb or brilliant?

Depending on the application, I think it could be smart. If he's using it for something light duty, like grading his private road it's smart. If he can flip that blade around backwards and thrust it into the grill of a tailgating car, it's brilliant.

Regardless of practical applications such as grading, that thing is sure to keep people off your bumper.

So either he has to drive through the snow to plow it, or drive backwards pushing a snow plow?

I'd be apt to install a hitch on the front of my vehicle as well so I could push or pull. It seems this would be fine for any light duty application.

I have my doubts as to whether a receiver will take that kind of abuse without catastrophic failure. I'm going to have to go with dumb.

I don't see any linkage that allows the angle to be adjusted on the fly. No hydraulic cylinder, er whatever. In fact, it appears to be chained 'up'. I'm guessing that bracket is to move 3pt implements, not to use 3pt implements.

I do agree that if used for anything other than transportation, it would fail. Especially in that arrangement.

Now if the 3pt was built into the receiver bracketry, not as a receiver accessory I could see it being much more durable.

Three point hitches on the back of jeeps and such was quite common many decades ago. Wouldn't mind having it for the rear of my truck, but it's expensive.

That blade in particular on a receiver hitch, mehe. Not going to work well. Didn't work that well when it was mounted on a tractor.

The problem I see with this setup is there is no top link. Just an electric winch to move the implement up and down.
