the datsun replica is shorter than the 810 wagon donor...so much so that the E-brake cable is too long. any ideas how to fix it on a GRM budget?

Not sure about the budget part, but look to the street rod world for some ideas.

The way I shorten/splice cables at work is

I usually solder a stainless cable into a loop. holds a million times better than a crimp.

how long is too long? I would think the only parts you need to worry about are the bits outside the sheath.. anything inside the sheath you can route as necessary to take up excess distance

probably a foot or more....the end of the cable is over the differential How sharply can I bend the sheath without causing problems?

They used to make cable shorteners for when they streched. don't know if they still do.

Napa sells screw on clutch cable stops. I figure you could probably use those to make new stops.

that I don't know.. but is there anyway you can put a couple of loose "s"s in it before it reaches the diff?
