Say what you will, the web utterly fails to provide readers with the experience of a good maga-zine.

I've had a lot of subscriptions to computer mags over the years. PC Mag, Maximum PC, Computer Gaming World, Antic, the list goes on. I learned a lot from them. I'll never forget, in the 8-bit days, typing in a BASIC program from a printout in a magazine. That was how we did file sharing in the early 80s. laugh

I remember how totally cool it felt to log into a Bulletin Board and download files and programs.  We had a good one locally called Blue Ridge Express.  Used it for a few years around 1993-1994 as the internet was taking off.  My first machine was an AMD 386dx40 with 4 Megs of RAM and a 212 MB hard disk.  And of course, a 14" VGA monitor. laugh

I could find but one reference to BBS's on the entire web:

How rapidly history is forgotten.
