Yes.
Not so long ago, 16-year-olds stormed the beaches at Normandy.
Now, 16-year-olds need a safe place because the internet hurt their feelings.

Gah! You can't be serious, keeping up with one is enough. Having multiple wives...... terrifying

I have been watching Sister Wives with my wife occasionally. I'd sooner stab my self to death with a soup spoon than live in that clusterberkeley. Besides not being able to remember everyone's names the constant whining would drive me insane.

Well obviously that was sarcasm, that was the whole reason I changed my screen name to this.
I think they're crazy as well. In all seriousness however, I fully expect to see a polygamy case end up in front of SCOTUS within the next year or two since the LGBT movement managed to obliterate the Defence of Marriage Act.

Your comment is an example as to why the slippery slope argument is an illogical one generally (movement in a direction implies the movement will never stop, in this case, there is a very big speed bump to clear). Bestiality is illegal because there can be no consent. Could bestiality be harmless? Possibly, but there is no way to know. If we could somehow magically talk to animals and they are OK with it and it did not harm them, then what's the issue?
Child molestation is illegal when there theoretically is consent, but our society does not allow minors to give consent, for what I am sure most will consider a very good reason (very clear evidence of a very high potential psychological harm). Sadly there is at least one society who does believe this, and apparently has no concern what it does to the children, but I see no road that would bring the vast majority of the world to those depths.
Besides, transgender, transsexual, cross dressing ect, are essentially a different issue from sexual behavior. It's best not to confound them (and as above, doesn't really matter anyway). The issue at hand currently is more of a "societal comfort" issue.
OK, from my perspective your comment is not a good example of a slippery slope argument. It's more of a straw man. You are responding to one argument with an answer (a concern really) to a different argument.
Thank you. That saved me some time.

I don't agree with this. I like to think that the Normandy storming 16 year old, as he waded through water mixed with the blood of his buddies, thought to himself "this is bullE36 M3. No one should have to go through this. If I live through this, I'm going to do everything I can to create a world where sixteen year olds don't have to storm beaches and be shot to pieces by other 16 year olds with machine guns"
So I, for one, think the world war 2 vets were a success, because we live in a softer world now. I thank them for creating a world where I didn't have to go get shot to bits on some far away shore. Maybe we aren't as hard as we used to be. Thank God for that.
I would much rather live in a world where the biggest concern of a teenager is getting hurt feelings or which bathroom to use, rather than saying goodbye to their mom as they ship off to get shot to pieces.

I don't at all.
The reason the DMA was "obliterated" was that it chose who could be excluded from something that the government recognizes. Which isn't following the 14th Amendment which tells us that everyone is equal. So from a government standpoint, it can not use religious reasons to exclude people from something it recognizes. Government recognizes marriage, therefore all people, regardless of who they are, can do it.
It does not say anything about numerical restrictions- limiting marriage to 2. So that's legal.
And, historically, limiting the age of consent has also been deemed constitutional. So lowering that isn't going to happen, either.
That's the core issue of most of the current social issue hot topics- in their hearts, they want to limit who does what. But the government has to tread a very fine line when it comes to limiting who can do what.

Couple of problems with that. First, the average age of soldiers storming ashore on D-Day was more like 23-24, not 16. While there were 16 year olds enlisting they were few and had a lot of training time before deployment. Often they would come forward when the reality of war struck them.
But more important is your assertion that we live in a softer world. I'm not sure that's true. We certainly live in a world where most Americans are insulated from day to day horrors but there are still going to be emergencies and disasters, bombings and attacks that challenge us. Living soft and cosseted won't help you they day the E36 M3 hits the fan and you have to step up. Whether it's a tornado blowing away your home or someone setting off a pressure cooker bomb at a marathon, things happen. Pretending the world is safe is just hiding your head in the sand.

For the average American, the world is incredibly safe.
Don't confuse possible with probable. And I say this as someone who has already had the tornado sirens go off 3 times at my house so far this season.

Ducks. Sex with ducks.
That can't be a real thing. Off to the trusty old work computer to Google it just be sureOHHMYYYGAWWDD!!!
Well, I'm almost a week into an Orlando vacation, and, although I realize that a place that encourages a general disregard of reality doesn't make a good sample community, I've never seen so many people of indeterminate gender in my life.

It's a typical election-time red herring to get the rubes all riled up and distract them from actual issues.
