Speaking to the owner of a morbidly obese, dog, "stop feeding him Vienna sausages, if you have to give him a treat give him a single dry cheerio."
Two months later, owner informs me he's been giving the dog bowls of Cheerios with milk (and he's gained 3 pounds), because "you told me to."
Well. Clearly that's what they wanted to hear. Food disorder people have some seriously messed up wiring in the ol' grey matter.

You know how hot dogs are compared to real sausage?
Vienna sausages have that same relationship to hot dogs. I wouldn't feed one to my pet.

Problem I have is that often I don't flesh out my comments enough, so I get misquoted or misunderstood a lot.
Possibly. The other side of that is many never try to understand other's points of view.

Ditto. It was an effort to get me fired for being the wrong tone of skin. I didn't deserve a nice job and therefore must be a white supremacist. That one still grates me.
Try being from Idaho, apparently we are all white supremacists

I hear that civilians in Idaho are allowed to own nuclear weapons as part of the 2nd amendment .
PS - I need to hit you up on that thing you helped me with a couple of years ago. Expect a PM in the next couple of months.
Everything I've ever been quoted for is a lie, even the things that are true.

I can't be 100% sure who said it at the moment but I think it was AngryCorvair. He said that about 1% of the population are shiny happy people. Clearly that's false... it's waaay more than 1%.
i have two comments to make about this: first, just like the guy in the wife beater who gets grabbed by the boys in blue while scaling a chain link fence after ditching his pickup, it wasn't me; second, i totally agree it's way more than 1%.
:-)
Yep. Sorry. That was me trying to be funny.

Thats every flyover state to be fair. The coasts assume we are all inbred hicks that hate people not like us.

The first hardcore racists I ever met was in Orifino in 2003.
Not exactly, but I was once contacted by a woman who thought that I was her father. She was just the right age to have potentially been an "accident" that I was never told of. With a little Google-Fu we found her real dad in Washington State and I could breathe again.

Maybe, although it's funny to hear how hick we are up here and see somewhat famous people be around here too

They are definitely around sadly but the vast majority are just normal people
It's somewhat shocking though when it pops up. When we got married my wife's bridal party was very diverse ( Mexican, Gay brides dude, Australian, and Black Lesbian if it matters). The photographer was an annoying bitch about it too, first making the gay guy super uncomfortable to be in the room while the girls were getting ready because " it wasn't right" because you shouldnt be somewhat undressed in front of a guy. Seriously, dudes gay , no one cares get over it. Actually made a huge fuss that it was more proper to have him get ready with the guys. Was rude to the Aussie for a variety of reasons, and when we got the photos back literally white washed the 2 darker skinned girls, not to mention also being pissy that the lesbian girl wore a suit.
And for all intents and purposes she seemed like a decent person that wouldn't be stupid enough to be racist but there it was. Luckily we had a backup photographer on site that did spectacular so we didn't really use her pics.
In reply to Antihero :
Racism is a whole 'nuther topic, and rarely as simple as the media would have us believe. My father-in-law wasn't above dropping the N-word, but in the 35 years that I knew him, I never saw him treat anyone with anything but respect. I came to the conclusion that on an individual basis he'd treat everyone equally, but there was always a theoretical group of "others" who were bad and couldn't be trusted. Was he a racist? Depends who you ask.
