Everyone's buying Leafs by me, I haven't seen a new car infest the streets so fast since the Kia Cerato. I saw one riced with Viper-style racing stripes yesterday. Anyone seeing the same effect? Hungary Bill?

Gas is very cheap now (well under $3/gallon) and my Leaf may not have been the smartest financial decision (during which we planned for $3.30 or so), even as good of a car as it is.
I've only seen a few around here.
Gameboy, what does gasoline go for in your neck the Lesser Antilles?

Apparently $2.99 is "well-under $3?"

Yeah, no kidding. I can't remember the last time I saw under $3.
By the way, merely being under $3 doesn't qualify as "very cheap" to me. You'd have to be under $1 for that.
$2.85 per gallon.

On the way into the city yesterday, so it's not "Greer".
You're right, $1.25 is cheap, but it's still cheaper than it has been in a long time.

Yeah, but it will be more expensive in another 2-3 months so I wouldn't worry.
Just converted the gas prices here into gallons and US currency, and we're basically at $6 US ($1.20/liter + 10% conversion US/Cdn)..
Anybody want to buy a slightly used '03 Pathfinder 4x4??
There are a bunch here at work now. Georgia has some insane tax credit that knocks down the price by a huge chunk. I've seen a few in the packing deck plugged into the normal outlets, and the dedicated charges stations are always filled. Part of me wonders if you could keep the car charged up on the company dime and not bother plugging in at night.
Ooops... need to correct my calculations... $5.99 for an Imperial gallon, and $5.28 for a US gallon...
Still too much...

Oh dude, yeah, if you live in georgia you need to lease a Leaf, now. Right now. It's basically free.

$5.88/gal now (using US gallons and US dollars), it dropped a bit late last year.
Thankfully I'm spared from seeing many leaf's/leaves as I can't stand the junk in the trunk look. But there are quite a lot of electric and plug in hybrids around, even in the snow.
Gas is around $3.20-3.30 here (SE Michigan) and I consider that stupid cheap. I just checked the price back in the UK. The average is currently 1.22.99 GB pounds which is $1.63 per liter or $6.17/us gal. So we are approx half the price here to the UK. I consider anything below $3.5/gal cheap. $3.5 - $4.0 bearable. $4.00-4.50 as pricy and over $4.50 as expensive.

Possibly, depends how far your commute is. It might literally be a "company dime" though.

My 30 mile commute takes much less than a dollar per day to charge. So yeah, not that much in terms of actual cash outlay.
I've had my Leaf for 6 months now. There's one other one that I see driving up and down my road once it a while. Beyond that one car, I think I've seen 3 other Leafs anywhere on the road. They're still quite rare around here (eastern PA). Gas is something like $3.40/gallon, thought I don't pay a lot of attention to it . With the amount of driving I do and the price I pay for electricity, it makes my Leaf much, much cheaper than any other new car I would have gotten. No, it doesn't "pay for itself", but it certainly cuts the cost way down. It's not much more expensive than driving an old beater.

Better check your math again. It's more like $4.10/US gal
Around Detroit, I have seen maybe 3 other Leaf drivers in the wild. Tons of Chevy Volts though.
My Leaf has been both the best and the worst winter car I have ever driven. Range sucks but it does what I need it to. Everything else is awesome.

Well I'll be dipped, that's pretty insane. My commute is only 13 miles each way. My only concern would be the extra cost of full coverage insurance for the Leaf, which might tank my fuel savings over a paid for 2002 V6 Camry.

Maybe, but you're in a brand new car that will never need any maintenance and you can sell the Camry.

Yeah, but you can drive 'cross country' on a liter.
I'm not sure I've ever sean a LEAF in the wild.
If there was a nice straight highway with no traffic going across the country instead of twisting, pothole-scarred roads swooping over hilly terrain that are either gridlocked or badly held up by whoever is driving the slowest in that general direction (since most are 1 lane each way), I sure could.
But right now I can't even stretch $35 to last a week in the Sammy, doing little more than commuting back and forth.
