My brother's daughter is moving to Fayetteville North Carolina with her mother. Currently she is attending a private school in south Georgia. She is in the eighth grade. What are the public schools like in Fayetteville. What private schools would you recommend if that is necessary? Thanks for your input

New report cards for NC public schools were released a few days ago. Look at ncreportcards.ondemand.sas.     If that's not a good link, just search NC schools report cards, it's searchable by county.  When I worked in Fayetteville during the Viet Nam era, it was a terrible place, but had lots of really nice folk.  It's been cleaned up a lot since then.

Thanks. Already have but it's kind of reading between the lines stuff. Hard to believe that Vietnam was 45 years ago. I'm sure some things have changed

I went to 3rd grade and half of 4 th grade at Vanstory Hills Elementary School, but that was 1978-79.

Seemed ok then, but what did I know?

Ft. Bragg being there sorta dominates things.

They didn’t call it Fayettnam for nothing.  First place I ever saw real live streetwalkers.  But that was in 1977.

That said, I have no idea the current situation with the schools.  Rural coastal NC doesn’t have the greatest rep, but Fayetteville is a big city.
