My 28' extention ladder from work has no more Clearcoat on it an the fibers are starting to get on my skin when I carry it or am on it. My company won't pay the ladder inspector to clear it. He told me to just by a couple cans of clear and shoot it myself.

Is this the right way of going about this? Any tips?

I'm trying to save myself from having to get one of the new ladders that weigh 20 lbs more than mine does.

so your company will buy you a new ladder, but won't pay someone to re-clear the ladder you already have?

They won't give me a new ladder unless it's damaged. My sup told me he could give me a new one but reminded me how heavy they are.

Get some resin and as quickly as possible bursh it on. Let it harden for at least 24 hrs. hand scuff it with #80 to knock the fibers down. Coat it again and go to work.
